About the Program
Upscaling WASH Systems Strengthening Approach in Terai Region of Nepal is a 3-year (2023-2026) 2nd phase project of Strengthening Municipal wide WASH Governance for Social Change in Siraha District (2019-2023), being implemented by SAMMUNATI KRISHI under the support of BMZ/VCA/WHH.
In the first phase, it was designed to support three municipalities (Siraha, Kalyanpur, and Karjhana) of Siraha district to achieve safe drinking water, total sanitation, nutrition and livelihood by strengthening WASH governance at municipal level. The 2nd phase expanded the target to additional two municipalities (Golbazar and Bishnupur).
The project focuses on building sustainable WASH systems through community engagement, local government capacity building, and strengthening governance structures to ensure long-term sustainability of water and sanitation services.
